15th April 2019:
It is clear that the lodge owners have used the lodge themselves. They have equipped the property with comfortable and fresh furnishings. The kitchen is very well equipped for a holiday home, with plenty of good quality crockery and utensils (none of the nonsense in some places where crockery is limited to the number of occupants and the "sharp" knives are useless). It was also a pleasant surprise to find olive oil, vinegar, herbs, sauces etc. We were extremely comfortable. There is a lovely view from the lodge, which is well located to access the island. The owners were very helpful with excellent customer care. Even where we have spent considerably more on holidays, I am often a little disappointed with some aspect, whereas, I would have no hesitation in positively recommending this holiday accommodation, and would certainly stay there again.

18th July 2018:
41st year in Blackwaterfoot and this was the best accommodation (and weather) yet! Everything you could ask for in a holiday chalet and so much more besides.Beautifully presented inside and out with superb outdoor facilities for BBQ's, meals, a quiet drink or just reading a book. Wildlife unreal - red squirrels, hares, birdlife and plant/herb pots to enjoy. Booked up for 2019 already!
Tips:It is a lovely walk down to the village but a car is necessary if you are going to beach/golfing at Shiskine G&TC regularly. So much to do on Arran but a nice change is to take car/bus to Lochranza, ferry (no car!) to Cloanaig on Kintyre, shoreline walk (1 hour each way, give more time coming back) to Skipness with its castle, Seafood Cabin (a must) and smokehouse, beach and great alternative views of Arran. Dont miss return ferry!

7th September 2017:
This lodge is on the quieter side of Arran but is still positioned to make it easily accessible to other parts of the island. The Owners, Gerry and Susan, made the booking process easy, answered any questions and provided a lot of information about the lodge and the island prior to arriving. They also personally met us and provided a lovely basket of Arran gifts and other bits which were gratefully received! The lodge itself was extremely well equipped and very much home from home. A lot of care, detail and attention is given to their guests and what is provided and was spotlessly clean and tidy. Gerry and Susan offered a fantastic lodge and service – certainly above and beyond what we have received with other lets we have done elsewhere in the UK!!
Tips:Plenty of walking routes available on the island, of different lengths and ability. Plenty of wildlife to keep an eye out for - even the odd submarine in the Firth of Clyde!! Only tried a couple of restaurants and both were ok. The beach at Blackwaterfoot was excellent.

5th June 2016:
We had a wonderful stay at Ar Fasgadh. The house is really lovely, very comfortable and cosy, and equipped to a very high standard. The wifi was faster than we get at home!! We felt very lucky to be able to stay there. The location is very peaceful and green with plenty of space for children to play around about. We had a lovely welcome from the owners and we very much appreciated all the information, maps etc that are provided in the house. Thanks!
Tips:We had a brilliant and busy week on Arran in absolutely blazing sunshine. It was just amazing. We enjoyed the beach at Blackwaterfoot, and also the cafe and tennis courts at Machrie. We did plenty of cycling, mountain walking, gorge walking, sea swimming etc. It was a great holiday.
